Ann at Colorado Granite did a fantastic and very timely job when I was in a bind for a rental property. They picked up the piece from Floor and Decor, cut the piece to length, had to do a ton of shimming because of my bad carpentry, installed it. They also cut off an inch from the back splash for logistical reasons and installed that too. See the photos. The price was totally reasonable. Would recommend all day.

Tips To Maintain Your Granite Countertops
Granite countertops are a beautiful and durable addition to any kitchen or bathroom, adding both style and functionality to the space. However, like any surface, they require regular care and attention to keep them looking their best. Whether you’ve just installed new granite countertops or want to ensure your existing ones stay in top condition, proper maintenance is key. From cleaning to sealing, here are some essential tips to help you preserve the elegance and longevity of your granite countertops.
1. Clean Regularly with Gentle Products
Granite surfaces are sturdy, but harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning products can damage them over time. Use a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and a gentle dish soap or a stone-specific cleaner. Avoid using acidic cleaners like vinegar or lemon juice, as they can erode the surface and dull its finish. Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining, especially with acidic substances like wine, coffee, or oils.
2. Seal Your Granite Countertops
Granite is porous, meaning it can absorb liquids if not properly sealed. Sealing your granite countertop once a year helps protect it from stains and bacteria buildup. Check your granite’s seal by placing a few drops of water on the surface—if it soaks in, it’s time to reseal. Use a high-quality granite sealer and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for best results.
3. Avoid Cutting Directly on the Surface
Although granite is hard and resistant to scratching, it’s not completely impervious. Cutting directly on your granite countertop can leave marks or cause the surface to dull. Always use a cutting board to protect the surface from scratches and knife damage. Additionally, using a cutting board will keep your knives in better condition.
4. Use Trivets and Hot Pads
Granite is heat resistant, but excessive heat can still cause damage over time. Always place hot pots, pans, and baking trays on trivets or heat pads to prevent heat damage or discoloration. Sudden temperature changes can cause the stone to crack, so be cautious when placing extremely hot items on your countertop.
5. Prevent Stains with Quick Cleanups
Granite is less prone to staining than other surfaces, but spills can still cause problems if left untreated. Liquids such as wine, coffee, oils, and juices can seep into the stone if not cleaned promptly. Keep a microfiber cloth handy and wipe up spills as soon as they happen to prevent stains from setting in.
6. Polish Occasionally to Restore Shine
Over time, your granite countertop may lose some of its original shine. To restore its gleam, you can polish the surface using a granite polish or a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stone surfaces. A light polish every few months will maintain the countertop’s luster and enhance its appearance.
7. Protect Against Impact
While granite is durable, it is not indestructible. Avoid dropping heavy items on the surface, as it can chip or crack under impact. If you notice any small chips or cracks, it’s best to have them repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
Summary
With just a little care and attention, your granite countertop can remain a stunning centerpiece in your home for years to come. By following these maintenance tips—cleaning with gentle products, sealing regularly, and taking precautions against heat and impact—you’ll ensure that your granite stays beautiful and functional for the long haul.

Testimonials
We had an out of state contractor working on our house for only a few week. Ann rushed our order so the granite could be installed while our contractor was still here. Our kitchen counter turned out beautiful! I really appreciate all of the time and effort Ann put in to work with our short schedule, and make everything go so smoothly. Over all Colorado Marble & Granite did a excellent job! I would use them again in a heartbeat!
Colorado Marble installed granite for me personally on three projects in my house, including my kitchen most recently. Professionally, I am a handyman, and they are always my first recommendation for custom granite. Thank You!
